Chambers County — Viewers who saw images of a violent crash on Interstate 10 in Chambers County told KFDM they couldn’t imagine anyone coming out of it with less than critical injuries, or worse.
It turns out that the driver was released from a hospital Thursday morning, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Viewer Janson Bailey provided photos to KFDM that he took driving by the scene Wednesday afternoon on Intersate 10 West near the truck weigh station close to Winnie.
An 18 wheeler slowed to enter the weigh station, and the driver of a Chevy Tahoe crashed into the back of the tractor-trailer, with the front half of the Tahoe wedged beneath the big rig.
The DPS says that 47-year-old driver from Pasadena, near Houston, was taken to a Galveston hospital. He was treated and released Thursday morning. He was alone in the vehicle.
