combine is in full swing one questionable tal unquestionable Talent Travis Hunter the two-way sensation here’s the potential number one pick on the possibility of playing offense and defense in the NFL they say everybody nobody has ever done it for real the way I do it but I tell them that I’m just different I’m a different person sure is Kimberly a Martin live from the combine in Indie I miss you girl you know the backdrop La combine the black I like I like way to go way to go what’s up Joe what’s up Joe tell Joe
what’s going on like I don’t have time for him today yeah we’re we’re she’s always like that with me she’s always like that with me but that’s okay it’s okay she get it from Molly Joe she gets it from Molly she gets it from Molly blame it all on me blame it on me Blame It On Lebron I know how it is Kmart should teams want Hunter to play both ways let me start by saying this Molly I love Travis Hunter’s confidence he is when he says he is different he truly is he is a human highlight real I love shador
Sanders a lot of these guys are coming in here saying I am special I’m different if you don’t want to franchise changing guy don’t take me Abdul Carter I should be number one I’m Different I will change everything maybe call me jaded cuz I’ve come to the combine quite a few years every Prospect thinks he’s different every prospects thinks he can come into an organization and completely change it Malik neighbors I don’t I’m not a last year I don’t like to lose what do you do with the Giants they lost
a lot of games you can you’re only one person right so when you look at Travis Hunter he is special but the cons the concern for some teams is the snap count the fit the toll that it takes on the body Travis Hunter says I’ve done it a long time you haven’t done it in the NFL a long time these everybody in the NFL was special was different when they’re coming out in college and when they’re in high school he might be a special talent but the NFL is a different ball game and for me what are you great at
that’s what I want to see what are you great at I would rather him pick one side for some of these Co coaches and jams that I’ve talked to it’s about his size his athleticism and also the wear and tear on his body and the snap count that is always the concern when you’re trying to say oh I can play Both Sides in the NFL incredible points as always incredible points as always oh Joe about okay come on Joe come might a slight disagreement here the thing is Travis Hunter is one of if not the best talents
in the entire country coming out of college football we just saw that he won a Heisman Trophy and he didn’t win a Heisman Trophy because he played corner or because he played wide receiver he won a Heisman Trophy because he won both and he’s going to the NFL as one of the most highly sought after prospects because he played both now if he was just a corner he’d still be a damn good Prospect if he was just a wide receiver he’d be a damn good Prospect but all of it together is what makes him special
now should he do what he did at Colorado in the NFL absolutely not 100 plus snaps per game that’s insane but if he’s going to start at corner have packages for him on offense that’s what makes him special that’s what makes him unique if you’re using a first round pick on him like number one overall two or three get him involved and he should definitely be playing both sides of the ball that’s what makes him Travis Hunter I agree with Joe uh at least for the immediate moment as as the years progress and he’s exposed to the
physicality of the game a bit more maybe a different decision should be made but coming into the National Football League one of the reasons he’s going to be a top pick is because of his versatility being able to play on both sides of the ball the fact that he can do that it makes him an incredibly unique talent highly valuable uh there’s simply nothing he can’t do on the football field and when you take into account who is college coach was and the fact that nobody did both sides better than Prime
that plays a role as well because you know Scouts teams Etc are the first thing they’re going to do is ask Prime about making such a decision about this kid when I spoke to Travis Hunter I met him at Super Bowl week and I had the pleasure of having a conversation with him on cam um Cam Newton’s podcast um you know what I what I told him was he’s got to get a bit bigger obviously because there’s a level of physicality that he’s going to be EXP exposed to that he wasn’t exposed to at Colorado so you got to get yourself bigger and ready
can’t certainly can’t have your speed compromis your strength compromis because those things are going to be required in order for him to have success but if you’re drafting him right now as a big- Time draft pick number one overall number three overall number five overall Etc you’re doing it Kimberly because of the versatility he brings to the table you’re not doing it because he’s this all worldwide receiver or this old world quarterback one or the other it’s the fact that he has the potential
to be both that has enticed you listen boys uh if there’s one person who understands the importance of Versatility it’s me I get it I know what it I I understand I understand when you have a unique talent and you can wear many hats on different shows at different times in different cities I get it right so versatility is a great thing excuse me okay it’s a great thing I I understand it I I think I’m not saying that we should never have packages for Travis Hunter it would be crazy not to I think I think when he
steps to the podium and has that confidence of saying I’ve done it a long time I think for me it’s the tempering expectations Joe you talked about the snap count we’re talking about the toll that it takes on the body yes packages it would be silly not to take advantage of his unique skill set but I think the I think traps is coming in here thinking I am different and I can completely overhaul what what’s been done I love the confidence some packages is fine that’s different than completely trying
to do what I just did in college that’s all I’m saying it’s also important to get this narrative out there that you want to go both ways because if you come out and say I’m just playing corner or I’m just playing wide receiver if I’m Tennessee I’m saying I’m just taking Abdul Carter because if I’m getting Travis Hunter I’m going to want to use that athlete in a multitude of ways because I saw it at Colorado and I likey what I saw at Colorado well for me personally I just love his versatility and I love the fact that his
willingness to bring that to the table tells me that in key pivotal moments I can utilize him no matter what I can I to have that flexibility I think is it pays it pays off big time and that that’s why that’s why I support it yeah Tennessee doesn’t need to take a mean gol fall right to the New York Giants and Kimberly I recognize the range infertility I see you girl PE [Music] [Applause] [Music]
