Canadians are serious about their hockey, and one Edmonton Oilers fan showed just how passionate she is about her team when she lifted up her shirt during a recent game.
After the clip began spreading on social media, the woman laid low, but sheâs now speaking out about the viral incident.
The Oilers fan, identified only as Kate, appeared on the June 10 episode of Barstool Sportsâ Spittinâ Chiclets podcast wearing some big sunglasses to help conceal her face. She admitted that she hasnât stopped keeping a low profile in the wake of the viral video.
âIâm still trying to be in the witness relocation program a little bit here,â she quipped. Coincidentally, when sheâs not at games, the Oilers fan works in a Canadian oil field.
When asked what possessed her to flash the crowd after the Oilers scored during the Western Conference finals game, she confessed âYou know what? I donât know.â She went on to explain what she believes could have led to her actions. âThe handful of Cheezies that I ate all day and the eight Trulys I drank in the first period was definitely inspiring,â she added.
It was a truly spontaneous moment, to say the least. âWe were all going crazy. It wasnât planned or anything, and it just kind of happened,â she said.
Kate went on to take her sunglasses off and reveal her face as she discussed what happened. She first saw the video that same night as the game and scurried to have it scrubbed from the internet. âI got it removed. I reported it, and I was like âOK, itâs gone. We dealt with it.â And then [June 7] it came back with a vengeance,â she said.
She then addressed a question that seemingly many people had: if her breasts were real. âNo, they are not,â she stated plainly.
The Edmonton Oilers are currently facing off against the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Finals. The next two games in the series, set for June 13 and 15, are happening at Rogers Place arena in Edmonton where Kate initially had her viral moment. It remains to be seen if sheâll be in attendance supporting her favorite team.
