Just hours before  Teachersâ Day , an  accident  left  a red mark  on the education sector:  nine teachers  lost their lives in a  multiple collision  on the  TehuacĂĄn Highway, Puebla â Oaxaca , according to state authorities.

The Oaxaca State Coordination of Civil Protection and Risk Management reported that the  accident  occurred on Wednesday, May 14, specifically at kilometer 28 of the aforementioned highway.
According to the authoritiesâ report, witnesses reported that the  accident  resulted from a   rear-end  collision between three vehicles : a direct-service bus, a tanker truck, and a pickup truck. The incident left several people injured and  several fatalities .
Due to these events, the Federal Roads and Bridges of Revenue and Related Services (CAPUFE) kept  the road closed , preventing traffic in both directions.

This Thursday, May 15, the Tehuacån Regional Coordination confirmed the  death of nine teachers , victims of this  accident :

- Lliliana Gallardo.
- Rosa MatĂas.
- JosĂ© RodrĂguez.
- Crimilda MatĂas.
- Carlos Villanueva.
- Maribel Ibåñez.
- Ana Ramos.
- Alma Martinez.
Regarding the injured, authorities have not yet shared the  final toll,  although they have confirmed  several injuries .
